Meta Tag Analyzer
Paste a page's HTML to extract and audit its title, description, canonical, robots, viewport, Open Graph and Twitter tags.
What this tool does
Parses pasted HTML and lists every meta tag that matters for SEO, then flags missing, over-long or conflicting values with a suggested fix.
Who should use it
Developers and SEOs who want an instant review of markup without sending it to a server, or who need to check a staging page behind a login.
How it works
A tolerant HTML scanner finds <title>, <meta>, <link rel="canonical"> and heading tags without executing scripts. Rules check presence, length, noindex directives, viewport, language and social tags.
How to use it
- Enter or paste page html source in the form.
- Use "Load example" if you want to see how input should look.
- Press the run button. Processing happens instantly in your browser.
- Review the result panel, then copy or download the output if the tool offers it. Use Reset to start over.
Practical example
A page with a 75-character title and no canonical returns a warning for title length and a warning for the missing canonical.
Understanding the results
Errors can stop a page from performing (noindex, missing title). Warnings and info items are improvements.
Limitations
Only the HTML you paste is analysed; tags inserted by JavaScript are not present in view-source. For a live URL use the Page Meta Checker.
Accuracy and report transparency
Results are computed in your browser from exactly what you enter. Deterministic steps (counting, parsing, encoding, validation) are verified by an automated test-suite with known answers. Where a method is a heuristic, the result panel says "estimated". No external data is used and nothing is invented.
Privacy
Your input never leaves your device for this tool. We count anonymous events (tool opened, run, copied) without storing what you typed. See the Privacy Policy.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get the HTML?
In your browser use View Page Source (Ctrl+U) and copy everything, or just the <head> section.
Is my data sent to your server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so the text or files you enter stay on your device. We do record anonymous counts of how often each tool is opened or run (no input data) to see which tools are useful.
How accurate are the results?
Counting, parsing, encoding and validation steps are deterministic and covered by automated tests with known answers. Anything based on a heuristic is labelled "estimated" in the result panel.
Is this tool really free?
Yes. There is no account, limit or paid plan. The site is supported by advertising, which is disclosed on our Advertising Disclosure page.
